This hefty "hacking knife" is a stout & heavy-duty knife that is designed for use by glaziers. Used along with a hammer to chip old putty out of window frames.  However, it has so many other uses... general hacking, a lightweight froe for splitting small pieces of wood, or even works fine as a Cable Jointers Hack Knife. The blade is made from high carbon steel & is hardened & tempered. The spine of the blade is exposed for hammering on, & rivets attach the thick solid blade to the leather handle.
